Summer is flying by and we want to help you slow down and enjoy it. A longtime Wheaton resident shared with us her list of things she makes sure she does every summer in Downtown Wheaton. Use it as your little checklist to make sure you are enjoying summer.
The list is not complete. What is your favorite thing to do in Downtown Wheaton during the summer? We would love to hear, and if you share you could win a $50 Downtown Wheaton gift certificate. The winner will be announced in the Shoppers’ Club newsletter in August. You’ll just need to claim the prize. So tell us what is on your list and remind everyone to slow down and enjoy summer. I think I am headed over to Martin Plaza right now to wave at a passing freight train.
Things you should do in Downtown Wheaton this Summer
#1. Stroll the French Market on Saturday mornings and pick up fresh fruits and veggies.
#2. See cool cars at Vintage Rides on Friday nights with an ice cream from Tates or Graham’s.
#3. Eat Popcorn from The Little Popcorn Shop while sitting by the Martin Plaza fountain and watching the trains roll by. (My kids wave to the freight train engineers, who usually wave back. I wave, too – it’s fun to feel like a kid again!)
#4. Dine Al Fresco on the patio at Ivy Restaurant under the night stars with my husband (and breakfast with girlfriends atEgg’lectic).
#5. Relax in Adams Park after picking up some gelato from La Spiaza.
