Let’s Wine About Winter

Wheaton Winter Wine Walk

The holidays will soon be over, and winter will set in, but that is no reason to stay inside. The Downtown Wheaton Association is hosting its 2nd annual Winter Wine Walk on Saturday, January 19 from 4:00 to 7:00pm in Downtown Wheaton.

This event will feature wines from around the world hosted at many Downtown businesses. Participants will sip, stroll and shop their way through Downtown Wheaton while tasting fine wines. Check in will be at the new Martin Memorial Plaza where participants will pick up their wine glass and tasting ticket along with a walking map to all the tasting locations.

Participants will enjoy 12 one ounce tastings in their souvenir wine glass. The Winter Wine Walk happens rain, snow or shine. Tickets are $25 per person in advance and $30 per person at the event. Additional tastings will be available for purchase at the event and will cost $5 for three one-ounce pours or $15 for 12 one-ounce pours. Participants must be 21 to participate and will need to present their picture ID at check-in to confirm their age.

If participants are feeling creative, they can purchase a ticket for The Sipping Muse Paint & Sip event immediately following the Winter Wine Walk. They will get a painting tutorial and create an extra special souvenir! The cost for this event is just $5 more per person. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the event as well as at The Sipping Muse on the day of the event.

New this year, participants will be treated to live music throughout the walk, a live ice carving demonstration at Martin Memorial Plaza and the First Trust photo booth where they will be able to take a free photo with their friends and have a unique souvenir.

Event sponsors include Culligan of Wheaton, Ivy Restaurant, First Trust Portfolios and Suburban Music.
