WHEATON – Children dressed to impress Oct. 27 during the Downtown Wheaton Association’s annual Boo-Palooza, which featured a Halloween costume contest.

As part of the festivities, participants trick-or-treated at downtown businesses and topped off their candy hunt with a trunk-or-treat at Gary United Methodist Church.

The event also featured other activities, such as face painting, storytelling, hayrides and the live carving of a 163-pound pumpkin.
