Each year, the Downtown Wheaton Association is proud to host the following signature events as a part of celebrating and strengthening our vibrant community.

Celebrate Spring/Celebrate Easter
March 30
Day & Time: Saturday, 10am–1pm
Where: Memorial Park & Participating Downtown Wheaton Businesses
Join us for this annual celebration of Spring and Easter! The day begins at 10:00 am with the Easter Egg Hunt for the kids in Memorial Park, followed by the Easter Bonnet Contest at 10:30 and the Academy of Dance Spring Performance at 11:00. Finally, from 12:00-1:00 pm, children are invited to “hop” around downtown Wheaton in search of treats and goodies to fill their baskets!
French Market
April 20–November 10
Day & Time: Saturdays, 8am–2pm
Where: South Main Street & East Liberty Drive
Whether you are looking for a fresh flower bouquet, delicious handcrafted breads and cheeses, artisan jewelry or just a stroll on a lovely day, the Downtown Wheaton French Market will not disappoint.
Vintage Rides

Join us for a trip down memory lane and view these POWERFUL works of art! See the complete calendar for the featured era or model of the night, from muscle cars to country night.
Women of Wheaton Care: Diva for a Day
June 20
Day & Time: Thursday, 12–7:30pm
Where: Participating Downtown Wheaton Businesses
A day of shopping, dining and pampering with 10% of proceeds going to five selected charities. Activities include: spa services, special in-store offers, fashion shows, complimentary goody bags, trunk shows, raffle for the ultimate swag bag and various in-store activities. The event concludes with an exclusive after-party Happy Hour at Suzette’s! Mark your calendar, and bring a friend to this wonderful day out, loaded with pampering and fun.
Downtown Trick-or-Treat
October 26
Day & Time: Saturday, 10 am–1:00 pm
Where: Downtown Wheaton
Bring the kids to this fun, safe trick-or-treat tradition in downtown Wheaton. Visit participating shops and businesses where children may collect their prized treats of the season. Maybe you’ll discover a new place that you’d like to “treat” yourself to soon!
Halloween Costume Contest!
Beginning at 10 am by the fountain at Martin Memorial Plaza… bring your little ghosts and goblins downtown Wheaton to this new Halloween tradition. Featuring local celebrity judges, surprises galore and tons of fun for all age groups!
Chili Cook-Off
November 2nd
Day & Time: Saturday, 1–5:00 pm
Where: Participating Downtown Wheaton Businesses
Just in time! Our area restaurants know how to take the chill out of the air. Join us for this delicious celebration of fall! Some like it hot…some like it not. Let us know how YOU take your chili when you vote for your favorite selection!
At participating downtown Wheaton restaurants. $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Tickets will be available at the DWA office (108 E. Wesley Street, Wheaton) and at the participating restaurants.
Dickens of a Christmas
Lighted Holiday Parade:
Friday, November 29, 6:00 pm
Where: Front Street
Ring in the holiday with this time-honored tradition! Join fellow community members for the tree lighting ceremony and festive parade. Don’t miss the other, fantasic Christmas and holiday events downtown Wheaton has to offer, listed below.
Second Annual Gingerbread House Contest:
November 2th-December 21st
Where: Businesses throughout Downtown Wheaton
Come out and see the beautiful creations that will fill downtown Wheaton shop windows with a magical sparkle this holiday season! Businesses will be putting on their creative hats and decorating gingerbread houses, each with their own, unique style. Then, YOU have the really tough job: to vote for your favorite on our website. They are all likely to impress! Good luck, decorators!
