Ice3 Fest

January 24

Day & Time: Saturday, 1:00–4:00 pm

Where: Memorial Park & Participating Downtown Wheaton Businesses

Yes—it’s cold out so make the most of the January winter with a little fun in Downtown Wheaton with the first annual Ice (cubed) Fest on Saturday,  January 24th. From 1:00-4:00 pm, enjoy ice carving demonstrations at Martin Memorial Plaza, check out the variety of ice sculptures on display throughout Downtown Wheaton and ‘warm up’ to specials being offered at various Downtown Wheaton shops and restaurants throughout the day.


In Good Taste “Toast”

February 26

Day & Time: Thursday, 6:00 pm

Downtown Wheaton’s In Good Taste Restaurant Week kicks off with the “Toast”. Hosted by Toms-Price Home Furnishings, at 303 East Front Street, many Downtown Wheaton restaurants will create delicious small plates for this evening’s celebration of cuisine. Gather friends for this unbeatable event! Watch for Restaurant Week specials all over town through March 8.


Celebrate Spring/Celebrate Easter

April 4

Day & Time: Saturday, 10:00 am–1:00 pm

Where: Memorial Park & Participating Downtown Wheaton Businesses

Join us for this annual celebration of Spring and Easter! The day begins at 10:00 am with the Easter Egg Hunt for the kids in Memorial Park, followed by the Easter Bonnet Contest at 10:30.

Finally, from 12:00-1:00 pm, children are invited to “hop” around downtown Wheaton in search of treats and goodies to fill their baskets!

French Market

Wheaton’s Wine & Cultural Arts Festival

Celebrate harvest time with us, as the Downtown Wheaton Association and Wheaton Park District co-host this  popular wine tasting and art event! The day includes wine tastings (70+ wines) , fine arts festival and live entertainment in Downtown Wheaton’s beautiful Memorial Park. Taste wine, peruse fine art by local artists, see artist demonstrations and take in live jazz and contemporary music. The crisp, refreshing autumn air pairs perfectly with a crisp, refreshing wine! Whether you prefer a hearty Cab or a sultry Chardonnay, come out and vote for your favorite. Boo-palooza! Downtown Trick-or-Treat

Bring the kids to this fun, safe trick-or-treat tradition in downtown Wheaton. Visit participating shops and businesses where children may collect their prized treats of the season. Maybe you’ll discover a new place that you’d like to “treat” yourself to soon!

Halloween Costume Contest! 
Beginning at 10 am by the fountain at Martin Memorial Plaza… bring your little ghosts and goblins downtown Wheaton to this new Halloween tradition. Featuring local celebrity judges, surprises galore and tons of fun for all age groups!

Pet Costume Contest!
Beginning at 10:30am at Martin Memorial Plaza, bring your pet in their Howl-o-ween finery and come away with some pet friendly treats.

Additional Halloween Activities at Martin Memorial Plaza:

Halloween Photo Corner: bring your camera and capture the moment as your little ghouls and goblins pose for photos.

Face Painting: Enhance your costume with special designs.

Friendly Gypsy Fortune Teller: kids can receive a ‘funny fortune’


7th Annual Chili Cook-Off

 November 7

Day & Time: Saturday, 1–5:00 pm

Where: Participating Downtown Wheaton Businesses

Just in time! Our area restaurants know how to take the chill out of the air. Join us for this delicious celebration of fall! Some like it hot…some like it not. Let us know how YOU take your chili when you vote for your favorite selection!

At participating downtown Wheaton restaurants. $15 for adults and $7 for kids. Tickets will be available at the DWA office (108 E. Wesley Street, Wheaton) and at the participating restaurants.


Dickens of a Christmas Celebration in Downtown Wheaton

Lighted Holiday Parade:

Ring in the holiday with this time-honored tradition! Join fellow community members for the tree lighting ceremony and festive parade. Don’t miss the other, fantasic Christmas and holiday events downtown Wheaton has to offer, listed below.

Lions Club Reindeer Run 2014

Saturday, December 5th, 8:30am

Come run or cheer for your favorite runners as we kick off the first Saturday in December with the Reindeer Run!  Runners must register in advance- awards and refreshments will be offered- the first 750 registered runners receive a long sleeve souvenir t-shirt!  Sponsored by Wheaton Lions Club and Wheaton Park District.

Holiday Stroll:

Saturday, December 5, 11:00 am to 8:00 pm

The shops and boutiques in Downtown Wheaton will be sharing the spirit of the season with complimentary holiday treats throughout the day from roasting chestnuts, cider tastings, eggnog, peppermints, Christmas cookies and other holiday treats.  Complimentary carriage rides, carolers and other special activities will be featured throughout the day!
