2018 is the year of the rosé in Illinois and what better way to celebrate that than at the Wheaton Wine Walk! The Downtown Wheaton Association is hosting its annual Wheaton Wine Walk on Thursday, August 9 from 5:00pm to 8:30pm in historic Downtown Wheaton.
This event will feature wines from around the world and right here in Illinois hosted at many Downtown merchants. Participants will sip, stroll, shop and taste their way through Downtown Wheaton while tasting fine wines, including many rosés, the wine of the Illinois Bicentennial. Tastings begin at the new Martin Memorial Plaza where participants will check in and pick up their wine glass and swag bag along with a walking map to all the tasting locations.
Participants will enjoy 12 one ounce tastings in their souvenir wine glass. The Wheaton Wine Walk happens rain or shine. Tickets are $35 per person in advance and $40 per person at the event. Additional tastings will be available for purchase at the event and will cost $5 for three one ounce pours or $15 for 12 one ounce pours. Participants must be 21 to participate and will need to present their picture ID at check-in to confirm their age.
If participants are feeling creative, they can purchase a ticket for The Sipping Muse Paint & Sip event immediately following the Wine Walk. They will get a painting tutorial and create an extra special souvenir! The cost for this event is $40 per person.
