Local Downtown Wheaton restaurants will once more enter the fray and fun of the 10th Annual Chili Cook-off taking place Saturday, November 3rd from 1pm to 5pm. Chili lovers will be able to sample a variety of chili recipes prepared and served by more than 12 participating restaurants and eateries.

New this year will be a scavenger hunt at other participating businesses. There are fun items to collect and great prizes including something spicy, something shiny and something soothing. Participants in the scavenger hunt include: Graham’s Fine Chocolates & Ice Cream, Jeans & A Cute Top Shop, Joy and Favored, Kimmer’s Ice Cream, Larc Jewelers, MOORE Toys & Gadgets, Suburban Music, The Sipping Muse and Wheaton Bank & Trust.

Tickets are available for $22 for adults and $10 for children (12 years and under) and may be purchased online at downtownwheaton.com/event/chili and at the Downtown Wheaton Association offices (108 East Wesley Street) Monday- Friday from 9am to 4pm. Tickets also will be available for sale the day of the event at Martin Memorial Plaza at Front and Main Streets, Wheaton Grand Theater at 119 N Hale Street and Gino’s East at 315 W Front Street in Downtown Wheaton.

  • Dry City Brew Works/Steamboat BBQ
  • El Zarape
  • Emmet’s Brewing Co.
  • Gia Mia Pizza Bar
  • Gino’s East of Chicago
  • Ivy Restaurant
  • Muldoon’s Irish Pub
  • Sogno
  • Sushi Mono
  • Suzette’s Creperie
  • The Burger Social

Ticket holders are invited to visit all participating restaurants, enjoy a taste of chili at each stop and cast their vote for their favorite chili. Winners of the ‘People’s Choice Award’ will be announced just after 6pm at Muldoon’s Irish Pub at 133 W. Front Street (last year’s first place winner).

Last year’s Chili Cook-off drew more than 700 attendees. Each participating restaurant is asked to prepare between 25 and 35 gallons of chili. All proceeds benefit the Downtown Wheaton Association marketing and special event efforts throughout the year.
